Prayer for Gilad Shalit
I am an atheist. To date my only prayer has been to Virgin Mary:
Oh, Mary, who conceived without sex. Please let me have sex without conception!
You see, prayers don't come naturally to me, but this one is a must. I was contacted by Oleh and am doing this to make myself feel better, if nothing else.
We shall not forget Khaled Mashaal, who gave orders to kidnap an Israeli and Bashir Assad who is hosting Mashaal in Syria. But today I shall pray.
We shall not forget Ron Arad, Vadim Norzhich, Yosef Avrahami, Kristian Menchaca, Thomas Tucker, and many others cowardly brutalized in captivity by inhumane barbarians calling themselves "fighters". We are also thinking of Eliyahu Asheri, an 18-year old Israeli hitchhiker who was captured by terrorists today. But now I shall pray for Gilad Shalit, a young man, whose faults are many:
- Jewish
- Israeli
- Being a soldier who enjoyed serving his country
- Being in the wrong place at the wrong time
"He's one of the funniest people I've ever met," Shalit's friend Dor Peled told Israel Radio. "He loves sports, soccer; he's very athletic." Peled said. He added that Shalit was a good friend, who had never done anyone a bad turn.
Why does it always have to happen to the best of us? So, here it goes:
Please let it be so that Mahmoud Abbas tries to release Gilad and succeeds in his efforts. Let those that are holding Gilad find a little kindness. Failing this, let decent Palestinians provide good information and let Israeli commandos save their comrade. Let his parents welcome Gilad home. Let Gilad live a long and happy life, have girlfriend(s) and a wife and a few children. Let him remember these days as a nightmare that wasn't as bad as it looked. Let my hopes come true. Amen.

I pray for him also, and for all the Israelis. I watched the news tonight. The Israelis bombed three bridges, took out the power plant, and were ready at the border with troop carriers, bulldozers, etc.
There is no military on earth like the Israelis when they put their mind to a task. I have been leary of Olmert up until now. But maybe he has the 'grit' that it takes to lead. We will see.
I pray for this soldier's safety and for him to be returned right away.
The fear is that he has been taken via tunnel to Egypt.

you pray for a soldier and you must pray for all inocent palestinian killed by "error".
And when there is a soldier i don't think that there is a terrorist act or i make a mistake.

This wasn't a terrorist act. It was an act of war, committed by an elected Palestinian Government of Hamas.
It's too late for me to pray for those innocent Palestinians that are dead as a result of actions by their "militants". Why are these "militants" shelling Gaza even now that Israeli settlements have been uprooted if not to provoke a response? As for those Palestinians that are alive, here is my prayer:
Let them realize how pointless it is attacking Israel and that Israel isn't going to absorb attacks silently. Let them find strength to fight terrorists among them so that a real peace and statehood and prosperity for their children can be achieved.

The Palestinians elected Hamas and now they are having to deal with them. They say they have no money for food or salaries, yet they have huge stockpiles of ammunition, missiles, etc. They can get money for terror, they can get money for food if they wanted.
The military wing of a government is the army. This is the Palestinian army attacking Israel. They killed three kids, two soldiers and one civilian. Soldiers murdering defenseless civilians in called blood is called a war crime. All terrorists called themselves soldiers. They are soldiers. They have guns, a command center, money. Anybody who targets a person because of their ethnicity is committing a hate crime. All acts of terror are hate crimes. If these weren't acts ordered by the Palestinian government, then the Palestinian government would have ordered the release of Gilad Shalit and would held their military men accountable for the kidnapping and the killing of three kids, one of them a civilian. If the Palestinian government wanted peace and weren't involved, they would surrender the cold-blodded killers to Israel.
The Palestinians have plenty of money to buy expensive weapons. They don't like to buy food because they have the UN cater to their whims. The UN diverted humanitarian aid that was meant for 25,000 starving people in Third World countries to feed the terrorists, so they don't have to spend money buying things other than weapons. The UN is killing 25,000 and protecting terror at the same time.
My next car will run on Ethanol, for sure. This is were oil money goes: to buy weapons that kill kids.
Now the Palestinian army released a statement that their next targets will be schools full of children. Wouldn't be the first time. Two years ago Muslim terrorists invaded a school in Chechnya and killed hundreds of children. We know is only a matter of time before they kill children at another school.
I've never heard a Muslim saying Israel has the right to exist or that is wrong to kill defenseless civilians. Muslims believe it is acceptable to kill people based on their ethnicity. That makes terror a hate crime.
If there is any Muslim out there who thinks Israel has the right to exist and that is wrong to kill people because of their ethnicity, please post it where we all can read it. Peace cannot be achieved between two groups of people when one group of people has as its ultimate goal the complete annihilation of the other group of people.
I have seen nothing that would lead me to believe that Muslims want peace. If there is any Muslim out there who condemns these attacks carried by the Palestinian army and believes Israel has the right to exist, post it.
